Porsche Taycan honoured in the 2020 GQ Car Awards
Great Britain. The new Porsche Taycan was named ‘Best Four-Door E-Car’ at the annual GQ magazine Car Awards held in London on Monday night.Unveiled last September, the first fully-electric Porsche sports car has been met with an enthusiastic reception from customers, media and fans.
The four-door sports saloon offers a unique combination of attributes, providing typical Porsche performance and connectivity with everyday usability. At the same time, highly advanced methods in production, as well as the features of the Taycan itself, set new standards in the fields of sustainability and digitalisation.
Ivo van Hulten, Director Interior Design, Style Porsche, received the award from BBC journalist, Tina Daheley.
In presenting the Taycan with the award for the ‘Best Four-Door eCar’ the GQ judges commented; “It’s so complete that it takes a while for your brain to compute what’s happening around you. When you do, all the regular touch points are present and correct: superb steering, high-quality interior, peerless ergonomics. A Porsche, then. Just an electric one.”
Performance meets efficiency
The flagship Turbo S version of the Taycan can generate up to 560 kW (761 PS) overboost power in combination with Launch Control. The Taycan Turbo S accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, and combines this with a range of up to 257 miles (according to WLTP). The top speed is 161 mph.
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is priced from £138,826.00 RRP and the Porsche Taycan Turbo from £115,858.00 RRP. The third member of the Taycan family, the 4S, was launched last October and is priced from £83,367.00 RRP.
