Porsche Carrera Cup GB extends partnership with SACRED Gourmet Coffee for 2018

Leading London Coffee & Tea Brand, SACRED, will be extending its association with the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, for 2018.

While the 485 hp engine of the second-generation Porsche ‘Type 991’ 911 GT3 Cup will provide the power on the track, headlining a number of changes for the 2018 season, off the track SACRED has been powering the Porsche paddock with their 100% Arabica gourmet coffee roast since 2010. Continuing the link to high performance driving, SACRED is also the official coffee used at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.

Both the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and SACRED have evolved significantly over the years and 2018 will be the ninth year of the association with SACRED Gourmet Coffee and the sixteenth season of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.

For the third year in a row, SACRED is also providing a £1,000 prize for the ‘Sacred Driver of the Year'. The award will be made to the driver who has made the greatest impression over the 2018 season, and in 2017 was taken by Pro category driver Dino Zamparelli (JTR) after he tied on points with the eventual championship winner. Drivers in all categories are eligible and will need to have consistently impressed a panel made up of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB organisers.

Tubbs Wanigasekera, Managing Director of SACRED said: “I never planned this partnership to grow so strong and to start our ninth year together is amazing. Porsche Carrera Cup GB is a premier series that captures the spirit of racing with style and SACRED is honoured to be part of the series.”

Ragnar Schulte, Head of Marketing and Motorsport, Porsche Cars GB commented: “SACRED Gourmet Coffee has been an integral part of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB paddock for a long time, and represents just one of the long term partners that the championship has established a successful, enduring relationship with. Part of what makes the championship so appealing is that stability and continuity.”

The winner of the ‘Sacred Driver of the Year' award will be announced at the annual end of season awards held in November, when Tubbs Wanigasekera will present the successful driver with their prize.
